IndiaPrimeTV Aviation Desk Twin Aviation Incidents Darbhanga, Bihar | June 30, 2026 A major aviation mishap was narrowly avoided at Darbhanga Airport after SpiceJet Flight SG115, operating from Mumbai to Darbhanga, suffered a tyre burst immediately after landing on Monday. Despite the unexpected incident, the aircraft remained under control and all approximately 150 passengers and crew members were evacuated safely without injuries, according to airport officials.
Airport emergency response teams rushed to the runway as engineers began inspecting the damaged aircraft. The aircraft was later moved for technical examination before further operations could resume.
Airport Operations Hit
The incident significantly disrupted operations at Darbhanga Airport. With the damaged SpiceJet aircraft occupying limited apron space and an Akasa Air aircraft also grounded due to a technical issue, airport capacity was severely affected. As a result, an IndiGo flight arriving from Delhi had to be diverted to Patna before later completing its scheduled service.
Technical Inspection Underway
Airport authorities stated that both aircraft will undergo detailed technical inspections before being cleared for service. Engineers are examining the damaged tyre and related systems to determine the exact cause of the incident.
Passenger Safety Remained the Priority
Officials praised the prompt response of the flight crew, airport rescue teams, and ground staff, which ensured a safe evacuation and prevented what could have become a serious aviation accident.
