Mumbai Fire Broke at apartment 2 died 4wounded
A tragic fire broke out late at night on August 11, 2026, on the 11th floor of the Shanta Bhavan building in Vile Parle West, Mumbai. The Level-2 blaze quickly engulfed two flats spanning over 4,000 square feet, leading to dense smoke throughout the top floor corridor.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and rescued several trapped residents, but unfortunately, a two-and-a-half-year-old toddler and a 23-year-old woman lost their lives. Four other residents sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at Nanavati Hospital, while two firefighters were treated for minor injuries.
Preliminary reports suggest that a malfunction in the electrical wiring or the air conditioning unit might have triggered the fire, which was brought under control after a three-hour operation.
