NEW YORK STATE (WRGB) — A new law here in New York state focusing on artificial intelligence disclosures on television is now in effect.
Legislation signed by Governor Kathy Hochul will now mandate anyone who creates advertising in the film and TV industry must disclose if their commercials include AI-generated performers. The governor's office says these ads without a proper label can undermine one's ability to accurately distill fact from fiction.
Governor Hochul says it respects our creative workforce, but also makes sure responsible AI regulation continues in our state.
