Retired Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra Appointed First Full-Time CEO

India Prime Tv National Desk The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in Ayodhya has taken a major step to strengthen temple management, administrative systems, security and financial transparency. Retired Indian Air Force Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra has been appointed as the first full-time Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ram Temple Trust. His name was finalized by a high-level selection committee after more than 5,000 applications were received from across the country.

Three New Trustees Also Appointed

Along with the appointment of the new CEO, three new trustees have also been inducted into the Trust. They include Mahesh Bhagchandka from Delhi, Madan Mohan Pandey from Ayodhya and Nirmala Yadav from Shikohabad. The changes are being viewed as an important step toward strengthening the administrative structure of the Trust in view of the growing scale of temple operations and the increasing number of devotees.

Who Is Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra?

Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra is a senior and experienced former Indian Air Force officer. He belongs to Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh. During his military career, he served in several important positions and also headed the strategically significant Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force.

Experience of the Kargil War and Operation Sindoor

Jitendra Mishra’s military career includes experience related to the 1999 Kargil War. He also held an important command during Operation Sindoor. In recognition of his distinguished service to the nation, he was awarded the Uttam Yudh Seva Medal (UYSM).

Retired From the Air Force on April 30, 2026

Jitendra Mishra retired from the Indian Air Force on April 30, 2026. His appointment as the first full-time CEO of the Ram Temple Trust, just a few months after his retirement, has also attracted significant attention.

Full-Time CEO Position Created for the First Time

For the first time, the Ram Temple Trust has created a full-time CEO position. The objective is to make the temple’s administrative and management operations more structured while establishing clear responsibility and accountability. Under the new CEO, greater oversight is expected over the temple’s daily operations, development projects and administrative decisions.

Major Administrative Change After Donation Controversy

Following allegations of financial irregularities related to donations and offerings received at the Ram Temple, questions were raised about the Trust’s financial management and transparency. An SIT was constituted to investigate the matter, and reports of action against several individuals emerged. The controversy increased the focus on strengthening transparency and accountability within the temple’s administrative system.

Major Responsibilities Ahead for the New CEO

Jitendra Mishra will have the major responsibility of improving the temple’s administrative operations. His responsibilities are expected to include overseeing daily operations, expansion and development projects, as well as improving coordination among different departments of the Trust.

Managing Millions of Devotees Will Be a Major Challenge

A large number of devotees visit Ayodhya’s Ram Temple for darshan. Managing crowds, devotee safety, darshan arrangements and VIP movement will therefore be among the important challenges for the new CEO. Strengthening and modernizing security arrangements within the temple complex is also expected to remain a key priority.

Greater Accountability for Staff and Officials

Strengthening accountability among employees and officials working across different departments is expected to be another important part of the new administrative structure. Monitoring mechanisms and accountability procedures are likely to be strengthened to prevent negligence and ensure more efficient functioning.

Digital Payments to Be Promoted Over Cash Donations

To improve transparency in the donation system, greater emphasis is being placed on digital payment methods. Platforms such as UPI, net banking and direct bank transfers are expected to be encouraged to reduce dependence on cash transactions.

Greater Transparency in Donations and Expenditure

To strengthen the confidence of devotees, greater transparency is being emphasized in relation to donations received by the temple and their utilization. The proposed approach aims to ensure that devotees have better access to information regarding the management and use of donated funds.

CCTV and Digital Records for Monitoring

The process of handling and counting cash from temple donation boxes is also expected to receive stronger monitoring through CCTV surveillance and digital records. Independent audits and third-party verification mechanisms may also be used to further strengthen transparency in financial operations.

New System for Security and Administration

The appointment of Jitendra Mishra is being viewed not simply as the appointment of a CEO, but as part of a broader change in the administrative structure of the Ram Temple Trust. Given his extensive military experience, expectations are high for stronger discipline, security management, administrative oversight and accountability.

Focus Now on the New CEO’s Performance

With the number of devotees visiting the Ram Temple continuing to grow, along with major development projects and the need for greater financial transparency, Jitendra Mishra’s role will be extremely important.
