ndiaprime Desk Lakhami Singh, the Assistant Librarian at Maharaja Surajmal Brij University, has been honored with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Library and Information Science by Madhav University, Sirohi, Rajasthan. Dr. Singh’s research was conducted under the supervision of Professor (Dr.) Syed Faheem Ali, who guided him throughout his academic journey. Singh’s work highlights the crucial role of libraries within educational institutions, describing them as the heart of any academic setup.
The PhD thesis focused on analyzing the condition of libraries in government colleges across Bharatpur district, bringing to light several practical challenges faced by these institutions. Dr. Singh emphasizes that the poor state of college libraries can hinder effective learning, but his research identifies areas for improvement that could significantly impact higher education.
By documenting the actual status of libraries, his work provides valuable insights into how resources and facilities can be upgraded to better serve students.
