In Wednesday’s letter to the editor, Tawnya Bowie is repeating the same claims from Michael Bennet that we have heard from Bennet for the last year. It is getting old — really old. As has been pointed out to the senator multiple times, the Trump administration’s family separation policy was officially in effect from April to June 2018. Phil Weiser was elected in November 2018 and took office in January 2019. Perhaps Phil could have done something after the fact — or maybe found a time machine. But the sad fact is the mistruths from Bennet are piling up.
There is a big difference between the candidates — one shows up and listens, and the other doesn’t. Case in point: Six years ago I sent an email to AG Weiser regarding fracking violations in Northern Colorado. I got a form letter from Bennet. Nothing else. Weiser reached out and put me in touch with one of the senior attorneys in his office. For the last six years, I have been working closely with Phil and the AG’s office on other climate issues. And whenever I see Phil, he asks about how the climate work is going. And we hear the same from so many other constituencies. Phil cares. Phil works. Phil succeeds. On the opioid crisis. On mentoring. On mental health. On gun safety. On youth. Phil cares.
The real difference between Phil and Michael is that Phil listens and acts. And this is the reason Weiser is the my choice to lead Colorado. Phil Weiser will be the people’s governor!

As a 21-year-old college student who has been on Medicaid my entire life, there’s only one real option this June for District 8, Shannon Bird.
I have lived within what is now CD 8 my entire life. I was born here, I was raised here, and I hope to retire here. Throughout my life, I have relied on Medicaid for everything from sports injuries and colds to surgeries and therapy. Without Medicaid, I wouldn’t be here writing this today.
Because of that, it’s incredibly important to me that our next representative doesn’t just talk about protecting healthcare, but has actually proven they’ll fight for it when it matters. I need someone who will stand up for me, my family and my community.
That’s why I’m supporting Shannon. She’s the only candidate in this race who has already passed health care reform in Colorado. When she says she’ll work to lower health care costs for working families, I believe her. Not because of what she promises, but because of what she’s already done.
In a time when health care is under constant attack, our community can’t afford to gamble on empty promises. We need someone with a proven record of delivering results. That’s why I’m voting for Shannon Bird.

The filter created by technology has masked what was accepted as truth and vaporized reality into what is purely artificial.
Human intellect will no longer be able to tell the difference, resulting in confused states of civic irresponsibility. We will have out-thought our existence. Have a nice day.
