4.2-magnitude earthquake struck the Uttarkashi

A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand in the early hours of Sunday (at approximately 1:21 AM). According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Barkot (Rajgarhi) region of Uttarkashi at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The sudden, strong tremors late at night triggered panic among local residents, causing many to rush out of their homes for safety. Fortunately, initial reports indicate no casualties, injuries, or significant structural damage across the region.
