Pachpadra Refinery Ready for PM Modi’s Grand Inauguration:  Rajasthan is preparing for one of the biggest industrial milestones in its history. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday conducted a high-level review of the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL) project at Pachpadra in Balotra district ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed inauguration on July 4, 2026.

The refinery, built at an estimated cost of ₹72,000–₹80,000 crore, has already commenced commercial production of BS-VI standard petrol and diesel, making it one of India’s most advanced integrated refinery and petrochemical complexes.


CM Bhajan Lal Sharma Conducts Final Inspection

On June 28, the Chief Minister reached the refinery site to personally review preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit.

During the inspection, he reviewed:

  • Security arrangements
  • PM movement route
  • Public meeting venue
  • Stage and VIP enclosure
  • Traffic management
  • Emergency response system
  • Civil infrastructure
  • Coordination among departments

Officials from the state administration, police, HPCL and HRRL accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit.

The government wants the inauguration to showcase Rajasthan as India’s emerging energy and industrial hub.


Commercial Production Already Begins

Before the inauguration, the refinery achieved a major milestone.

On June 22, 2026, commercial production of:

  • BS-VI Petrol
  • BS-VI Diesel

officially started.

This marks Rajasthan’s entry into the league of major petroleum-producing states.

The refinery is expected to significantly reduce dependence on fuel transported from other states while strengthening India’s energy security.

  • Around ₹400 crore investment by HPCL
  • Government land to be allotted through a dedicated lease policy
  • Policy expected by July 31, 2026
  • HPCL aims to become the preferred fuel supplier for government departments

The move is expected to reduce transportation costs and help retain fuel-related tax revenues within Rajasthan.
