By India Prime Infrastructure Desk | New Delhi/Jaipur When Will Construction of Khatu Shyam Railway Station Begin New Delhi, One of the biggest questions surrounding the proposed Khatu Shyam Railway Station in Rajasthan is when construction will actually begin. During a meeting with representatives of the Shri Khatu Shyam Ji Temple Trust, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw outlined the implementation roadmap but did not announce a fixed construction date.
According to the Railway Minister, the project will commence with technical and engineering works rather than the station building itself. The first phase will include detailed engineering surveys, track planning, signalling modifications, construction of the required railway infrastructure, and integration of the new station with the existing railway network on the Sikar–Ringas rail section.
Only after these technical works are completed will the construction of the station building begin.
No Official Construction Timeline Yet
The Ministry of Railways has not announced an official commencement date or completion timeline for the project. As of now, the proposal is in the pre-construction stage, where engineering designs, technical approvals, and railway infrastructure planning are being finalized before civil construction starts.
Where Will the New Station Be Located?
The proposed station will be developed between Palsana and Baori Thikaria stations on the Sikar–Ringas railway line, approximately 11 kilometres from the famous Shri Khatu Shyam Ji Temple.
Designed to reflect Rajasthan’s architectural heritage, the station will feature modern passenger amenities, including booking offices, spacious waiting halls, clean toilets, passenger information systems, accessibility facilities for differently-abled travellers, and other commuter-friendly infrastructure.
Expected Impact
The new railway station is expected to significantly improve rail connectivity for the millions of devotees who visit Khatu Shyam Ji every year. Besides enhancing pilgrimage travel, the project is likely to strengthen regional connectivity, boost religious tourism, generate local economic activity, and improve railway infrastructure in the Shekhawati region.
India Prime Analysis
While the project has received policy-level support and has entered the planning phase, actual construction cannot begin until the technical, engineering, signalling, and statutory processes are completed. Since the Ministry has not issued any official start date, any claim regarding the commencement month or year would be speculative. For now, the project remains in the preparatory stage, with technical execution being the immediate priority before civil works can begin.
