India Prime TV International Desk: A tragic accident has occurred in the mountainous region of eastern Switzerland, where a tourist bus carrying Dutch passengers overturned in the Swiss Alps. Several people have reportedly been killed and many others injured. The accident took place on Thursday evening, September 10, 2026, at around 4:45 p.m. local time. A total of 48 passengers were travelling on the bus, all of whom were reportedly Dutch nationals.

How the Bus Accident Happened

The accident occurred on the Engadinstrasse road between Susch and Zernez in the Graubünden canton of Switzerland. According to local police, the tourist bus operated by Dutch travel company Oad suddenly collided with a safety barrier, left the road and overturned on a slope below.

Preliminary information indicates that no other vehicle was involved in the accident. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances and cause of the crash.

Large-Scale Rescue Operation

A major rescue operation was launched immediately after the accident was reported. Five rescue helicopters and several ambulances were deployed to the scene to evacuate and transport injured passengers to hospitals.

Swiss authorities have not yet released the exact number of fatalities, as officials are still working to notify the families of those involved in the crash.

Swiss authorities and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs have expressed deep sorrow over the incident. A detailed investigation is now underway to establish what caused the bus to leave the road and overturn.
