India Prime Tv International Desk New Delhi The bodies of four members of a Hindu family were recovered under highly suspicious circumstances from their locked house in Rangpur city, Bangladesh. According to reports by international news agencies ANI (Asian News International) and the prominent Middle Eastern media outlet Gulf News, the deceased have been identified as 65-year-old retired school teacher Ganapati Chakraborty, his 50-year-old wife Pritilata Chakraborty, their 23-year-old daughter Agami Chakraborty, and their 12-year-old son Priyam Chakraborty. Based on the preliminary investigation, the police strongly suspect that the entire family was brutally murdered by strangulation.

Suspicious Death of a Hindu Family in Bangladesh

According to international news outlets and local media, the matter came to light when all mobile phones of the family members suddenly went switched off after Thursday night. When relatives and neighbors failed to establish any contact with the family for a long period, they reached their three-story residence in the Daspara (Machuapara) area of Rangpur around 11:30 PM on Saturday. Upon finding a padlock on the main gate, they immediately alerted the local police, who subsequently broke open the door to enter the house.
Bodies Found Scattered in Different Areas
As reported by foreign media outlets like The Star (Malaysia), the scene inside the house was horrific, with the four bodies scattered in different areas of the property. The body of the retired teacher, Ganapati Chakraborty, was found on the rooftop, while the bodies of his wife, Pritilata, and his daughter, Agami—who had recently completed her master’s degree—were recovered near the staircase. Meanwhile, the body of their innocent 12-year-old son, Priyam, a fifth-grade student, was found hidden under a bed inside a room.

Multi-Agency Investigation and Current Status

Given the severity of the incident, a joint high-priority investigation has been launched by the Kotowali Thana Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and Detective Branch (DB) of the Bangladesh Police. International news reports, citing local authorities, stated that forensic evidence has been gathered from the crime scene, and all bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. As part of the initial action, the police have detained two suspects for questioning, and an intensive investigation is underway to determine the exact motive and cause behind this heinous massacre.
